Planet Earth series

Here is my recent series “Planet Earth”, produced in 2020 and clearly inspired to the pandemic.

The painting could have a chronological order in the succession of the events I describe and the emotional consequences of each. Nevertheless, no order is proposed with the intention to stimulate the viewers’ curiosity and encourage them to find their own sequence.

In this series of acrylic paintings, I experimented the use of Japanese rice paper as a background base, light sketches of navigation maps, metal foils and a strongly relieved textures: come on, touch with your eyes!

Hidden plague

It is hiding somewhere and ready to hit. Will it be as bad as it feels, or will it bring with it unsexpected treasures?

Breaking point

When something hatches from the inside, there is always a breaking point. Is it a plague or a vulcano. Is it going to spread or explose?

The spread

The damage is done, something is spreading, in the world and the souls. What is it going to happen?

The end of the world

An imaginary word with all its secrets are coming to an end. What happened before, and how would you visualize it?

Hope

Whether in difficult times, in the midst of a storm or facing a terrible threat, there is always hope. Is it the end or a new beginning? This particular piece is inspired to Mount Fuji and the feelings it aroused in me the first time I saw it.
